Honey Pig Samgyupsal
* Honey Pig Samgyupsal consists of thick slices of pork belly meat (similar to uncured bacon). According to a 2006 survey by Agricultural Cooperatives in Korea (농업협동조합), 85% of South Korean adults surveyed stated that their favorite pork part is samgyupsal.
Bul-go-gi
* Bulgogi is made from thin slices of prime beef. The meat is marinated with a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and other ingredients. This dish is served with a side of lettuce, which is used to wrap a slice of cooked meat, along with a dab of ssamjang, or other side dishes, and then eaten as a whole.
Kimchi
* Kimchi is the most common banchan, or side dish, in South Korea and many South Korean communities and locales. Kimchi is made of various vegetables and contains a high concentration of dietary fiber, while being low in calories. One serving also provides up to 80% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C and carotene. Most types of kimchi contain onions, garlic, and peppers, all of which are salutary. The vegetables being made into kimchi also contribute to the overall nutritional value.
Doen Jang Jjigae
* Doen Jang Jjigae is made with Korean soybean paste and ingredients such as vegetables, mushrooms, seafood, and tofu. It is regarded as one of the representative dishes of commoners' food in Korea. Doenjang is rich in flavonoids and beneficial vitamins, minerals, and hormones which are sometimes claimed to possess anti-carcinogenic properties.
